Graphic Design 1
First year of high school, first real class of Graphic Design. Going into this class my spirits were high but skill was low. Took a look at the class and wanted my money back. But take whatever I had and I put it to the test and ended up taking the next test.

01
Street Sign
Size: 9 x 7 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: For this project, we were tasked to use basic shapes to create a traffic sign that represented me. I used circles, triangles, ovals, and rectangles to create a collage of myself. The three spires represent my place of worship, the book represents my love for reading, the basketball represents my love for a good game and the middle symbol is a religious symbol that represents pride for my religion. With this project we learned about the importance of placement, and so the small symbols inside the three spires show how all these elements were founded through my place of worship. Of course lets not forget the green, which represents my perfectionism, a whole lot of it.
02
Silhouettes
Size: 8.5 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: I used an image of myself and my mom to create an illustration with deep imagery. The black silhouette is me, and the negative space one is my mom who is reaching out and holding my hand up. She helps me hold up a key to a caged bird because she helps me understand "why the caged bird sings" a famous poem by Maya Angelou.

03
Multiple Silhouettes
Size: 8.5 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: A successor to the silhouette illustration, we created an advertisement poster using at least three silhouettes of ourselves. It was a cool project and I produced an even cooler poster. I chose to advertise Burberry glasses, to be honest I didn't even know Burberry sold glasses before this, but I struck some cool poses and created a muted but engaging poster with silhouettes of me. This project was entered in the Arts4All contest in the spring of 2023.
04
Mandalas
Size: 11 x 8.5 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: To learn the pattern brush tool in illustrator, we used a basic layout about shape to create a radial beauty. A few of my favorite mandalas out of the many I experimented with displayed here, we were also introduced into color harmonies. So this was a foundational project for me as well as a nice introduction to color which is why I set a PANTONE theme for this poster.

05
Mandala Poster
Size: 17 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: Using my knowledge from the previous project, I created a mandala about myself, but not just any poster about things I like or things I appreciate, instead I took on a different perspective. I myself in the shoes of me, yes me, but an existential, crazy, psycho, and sleep deprived version of myself. Interesting how it turned out.
06
Victorian Style Haiku Poster
Size: 8.5 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: Taking inspiration from the ads of the victorian era, I created a haiku and styled it according to this eras styles. Elements such as drop shadows, banners, and use of text were introduced and especially used in this project. To be clear, my haiku is about soccer and I used a banner to emphasis the main descriptive word and also made the word "sphere" curved. These little things introduced the world of typography.

07
Personal Logo
Size: 8.5 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: Funky, natural, calm, bold would all be vibes being emitting from my logo, and well, that's me. Being all straight and perfect was something I could never do do my initials have some funk and spunk to them while also looking a bit modern as well.
08
Decades Themed Stickers
Size: 8.5 x 11 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: Themed for 20th century decades, my stickers contain quotes, one from the 60's, and one from the 40's that are designed from the ground up... well... very 60's and 40's. "Take a chill pill" which matches the hippie 60's and a beautiful Mark Twain quote "always obey your parents when they are present" strikes fun into propaganda 40's.

09
Client Logos
Size: 11 x 8.5 inches
Medium: Adobe Illustrator
Description: Created as an end of the year project for a client, I created four distinct logos for a company called BIOMED OPEX. It was a contest across the different class periods and so I would have to compete against 12 to 16 different logos. Being the unique jerk I am, I decided to take a risk and create logos with a variety, different speeds, sharpness, and outlook. Did I win.... well no, but I believe I created excellent logos which represent the clients wish for an identity of innovation, excellence, and efficiency.
